graphpaperhub.com FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about making, downloading and printing graph paper here. Still stuck? The contact page is the place to ask.

Is Graph Paper Hub free?

Yes. Every sheet is free to generate, download and print — for personal, classroom and commercial use. There is no paywall and no watermark.

Do I need an account or any software?

No. There is nothing to install and no sign-up. The generator runs in any modern web browser, and you download finished sheets directly.

How do I print at the exact size?

Print at 100% scale. In the print dialog set scaling to 100% (or “Actual size”) and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink oversized pages”. Because each sheet is drawn in real units, a 5 mm grid then measures exactly 5 mm on paper.

Which format should I download — SVG, PNG or PDF?

Choose PDF for straightforward printing at the page size you picked. Choose PNG (up to 600 dpi) when you need an image to drop into another document. Choose SVG if you want to edit the lines in vector software such as Inkscape or Illustrator.

Can I use millimetres and inches?

Yes. Spacing can be set in metric or imperial units on every template, and the printed result matches the units you enter.

What paper sizes are supported?

Common sizes from A5 up to Tabloid are built in, and you can set a custom page size. The grid is fitted to whichever page you choose.

Can I change the colours and spacing?

Yes. Each template exposes its own controls — spacing, line weight and colour at least, plus type-specific options such as hex orientation, staff spacing or the number of columns.

Why is there a white border around my printed sheet?

Most printers cannot print right to the paper edge, so they leave a small unprintable margin. This is a printer limitation rather than part of the sheet; printing “borderless”, where your printer supports it, reduces it.

Is my data private?

Yes. The sheets you create are generated entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. See the privacy policy for how the site’s analytics and advertising work.

Can I request a new paper type?

Please do — suggestions and feedback are welcome through the contact page.
